A year ago, I didn’t even know what flash fiction was. Had you mentioned the phrase, I probably would have thought it referred either to a particular kind of self-exposing erotica, or to stories you dashed off as quickly as possible. Bwah ha ha.
Now I find myself a flash-writing addict, heading over every Friday morning to Flash Friday Fiction to check out the weekly prompt and craft my (very) short story. I find it a great way to challenge my writing, in a small, highly manageable manner.
Much to my delight, I’ve managed to win the weekly competition three times, and took the Dog Days Champion crown this summer, as well. With such a crop of talented writers participating every week, to merit nods from the judge feels like quite the accomplishment.
I hope you will join us – either as a participant, or perhaps just to read amazing stories and provide writers with much-appreciated feedback.
